Repair rear spring

Repair spring u-clips.

One side was broken off and missing.  Cut a new side out of 1/8″ flat stock and welded in place.

Eyelet on the top leaf broken off.

Tried to buy a single top leaf but couldn’t find one so decided to repair it.

Wire brushed surfaces.

 

Ground surfaces to create a V-Shaped groove when mated together.

Clamped in place for tack weld.

 

Tack weld in position.

 

Full penetration weld.

 

Filed smooth.

 

Remove remnants of old bushing.

 

Reassemble spring.

 

 

 

Install on frame.
